Canadian Long Term Care Nursing Leadership Foundations Course (Fall 2023 Cohort)

Course Overview:

This course bridges the gap between competent nurse to successful nurse leader in a long term care setting within the Canadian landscape. This foundational course provides direction to licensed nurses as they begin their career in leadership in long term care. This intensive online course is done a small group setting with one facilitator for the duration of the course. The content is divided into discovery units that explore key skills and includes practical homework each week that involves skill translation through practical application.

In addition to the personal skills acquisition, the weekly course cohort becomes a cohesive group of nurse leaders with similar goals and attributes that act as a resource for each other moving forward. The impact of this peer support cannot be underestimated as these nurse leaders navigate the responsibilities of the role in their individual home.
