  • Classes are taught online using Zoom video conferencing, class may be recorded for participants if they are unable to attend

Expectations and Grading

Course Expectations: 

All participants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement before the first class to ensure that any discussions that occur in class are kept confidential. This allows participants to speak freely and share any current concerns or issues in a supportive environment. 

It is expected that participants make every effort to be in class each week. Virtual recordings will be provided if a participant is absent, but this is discouraged as the classes are very interactive. The link for web recordings will be valid for 7 days and then deleted. 

Course Grading/Completion: 

Participants are required to attend class and complete the homework assignments to be given a credit for the course. The course is a pass/fail grading format and support from the instructor is provided to encourage student success. 

Upon successful completion of this course, students are awarded the certificate of “New Brunswick Nursing Home Administrator Course”.

This course is facilitated by Daphne Noonan, BA, M.Ed from Beacon Clinical Group.

Daphne Noonan brings over 20 years of leadership experience in long-term care across Ontario and Atlantic Canada. She currently serves as a consultant with Beacon Clinical Group, where she teaches the Administrator Course and has been a valued guest speaker for the past four years.

Daphne is known for her passion for person-centred care and her ability to lead transformational change in the aging care sector. As the former Executive Director of Nashwaak Villa Nursing Home in New Brunswick, she guided the organization through a comprehensive culture shift to achieve Planetree Gold Certification, making it a national model for person-centred practices.

Now the full-time Executive Director of Person Centred Universe, her work is grounded in adult education, innovation, and compassion. She remains a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and events.

Daphne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology, a Master’s in Adult Education, and a diploma in Health Sciences with a specialization in Therapeutic Recreation. She is also certified in Dementia Care Mapping through Bradford University in the UK.

She has previously served on the boards of both the provincial chapter and national federation of the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
