Enhancing Care Through Sensory Stimulation [English]

Rehabilitation Series Recap: Enhancing Care Through Sensory Stimulation with Amy McNair

On April 8th, 2025, New Brunswick Nursing Home Learning Campus (powered by Beacon Clinical Group) hosted an engaging webinar as part of our Rehabilitation Series: “Enhancing Care Through Sensory Stimulation,” led by Occupational Therapist Amy McNair.

In this session, Amy explored the impact of sensory stimulation strategies in long-term care, particularly for residents living with cognitive impairment, dementia, or sensory processing challenges. She shared practical, evidence-informed approaches that can be adapted for various care settings—offering participants new ways to support resident engagement, comfort, and quality of life.

Amy brings over 21 years of experience to her role as an OT, specializing in long-term care consulting across New Brunswick. Known for her collaborative approach, she partners with families, care teams, and residents to co-create meaningful care plans rooted in both science and compassion. Her work is a powerful reminder of how Occupational Therapy can help individuals thrive, even in complex care environments.
