Leadership Series Recap: “Newbies at Noon” Welcome Session
On April 10th, 2025, New Brunswick Nursing Home Learning Campus (powered by Beacon Clinical Group) hosted “Newbies at Noon”, a warm and informative session designed for those new to long-term care in New Brunswick. This Zoom conversation—facilitated in both English and French by Cheyanne Culbert and Joanne Graham—offered a welcoming introduction to the sector, along with helpful tips and access to key resources.
Participants received an overview of what to expect when starting in long-term care, learned about education supports available through the New Brunswick Nursing Home Learning Campus, and had the chance to ask questions in a relaxed and supportive setting. Whether clinical or non-clinical, everyone was invited to connect, learn, and feel more confident in their role.
About the Facilitator
Cheyanne Culbert, RN, MN, has over twenty years of experience in long-term care and is a skilled nurse educator. She previously served as Director of Nursing at a New Brunswick nursing home, where she led her team to achieve Planetree Gold designation in person-centred care.
As a former faculty member at the University of New Brunswick, Cheyanne recognized the significant gap between the Bachelor of Nursing program and leadership roles in long-term care. After earning her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education with a focus on LTC leadership, she committed herself to helping other nurse leaders bridge that gap in a supportive and practical way.
